Need French speaker for assignment in Germany starting Jan 24

The NLSC has received an inquiry from a federal agency that has a need for French interpretation. This potential assignment will require travel to Germany beginning as early as January 24th for a period of approximately 11 weeks to provide interpretation services, primarily in a training environment.

Please carefully read the position description below and apply as soon as possible if you meet the required qualifications and would like to be considered for this opportunity. If you cannot devote the entire 11 weeks, please let us know if you are interested and can travel abroad for at least 3 consecutive weeks.

Required qualifications:

  • Extensive simultaneous or consecutive interpreting experience in classroom/seminar setting using French language
  • Available to devote at least 3 weeks of full-time work
  • Current passport that expires no earlier than November 2011.
  • Willingness to travel to Germany
  • Willingness to take a French test administered by NLSC Language Certification Team
  • Willingness to be federally hired

Desired qualifications (pluses):

  • Experience working with military and/or military operations (or familiarity with military terminology
  • Medical background or training
