An Arabic and French speaking Member of the NLSC arrived this past weekend in northern Germany to serve in an interpreter role during a U.S. Army training course being offered to individuals from Arabic- and French-speaking African countries..
The NLSC Member will interpret for a class of about 30 students from several western African nations. The students speak French and/or Arabic and very little English.
The Army requested NLSC involvement in order to ensure proper care of student health and welfare issues. And in fact, the Army is thankful he was on site, as he has a medical background and he has already assisted one student with a medical issue.
Our Member's assignment will last approximately eleven weeks.
