Last weekend we were in Salt Lake City at the 22nd Language Conference of the 300th MI Brigade. The theme of the conference was "Training the Army Linguist for Cyber Network Operations". Our recruiting table was in a great location (near the refreshments table!), and easily half of the 400-500 linguist attendees stopped by.
This really was a great event for us, as we networked among the attendees and other exhibitors. We even got an unsolicited plug during a presentation from one of our members, who was the speaker and is an Associate Professor of Russian in the Department of German Studies and Slavic Languages at Brigham Young University. He spent his initial few minutes of his presentation talking about the NLSC.
We also held informal “meet and greet” sessions with some of our Salt Lake City-area members, giving them a chance to ask questions and giving up an opportunity to update them on the latest goings-on at NLSC.
Below: a scene from our table in the exhibitor's hall, followed by two scenes from our time with Salt Lake City-based NLSC members.
