Recruiting Among Hard to Reach Language Communities

Meeting potential Members with less commonly taught languages has always been one of the core goals of the National Language Service Corps (NLSC). Attending the National Council of Less Commonly Taught Languages (NCOLCTL) conference from April 21 - 23, 2017 in Rolling Meadows, IL was an opportunity to successfully promote the NLSC and engage attendees who spoke a variety of languages such as Swahili, Yoruba, Kisii, Akan, Lingala, Kinyarwanda, and Gusii. The conference attendees were interested in the NLSC, particularly in the language resources and other exclusive benefits available to NLSC Members.

Pending assignment requires Hausa, Igbo, Efik and Yoruba speakers

We have a pending assignment with a law-enforcement client that requires the following languages: Hausa, Igbo (also known as Ibo), Efik, Yoruba.

Note that the requirement includes that the Igbo and Efik speaker be the same person.

If you are an NLSC member who speaks one of these languages (or two, in the case of Igbo/Efik), please contact your Interactions and Engagement representative. If you are not a member and are interested, or you know someone else who's not a member who might be interested, you can apply on-line at http://www.nlscorps.org/ to join the NLSC.
