2011 in review

Looking back at 2011, the National Language Service Corps (NLSC) reached important milestones as the first government language program designed to support the security and welfare of the nation.
  • We grew over 75%, from 1,657 to nearly 2,950 Member volunteers.
  • The number of languages our Members speak grew to 232, an increase of 95% over year-end 2010 (you can see a list of those languages here).
  • The NLSC worked with 18 federal agencies to help fill existing foreign language gaps or to prepare for future needs.
We are looking forward to a busy 2012.
