The
National Language Service Corps (NLSC) is pleased to announce the graduation of
16 NLSC Members, applicants and prospects from the English for Heritage
Language Speakers (EHLS) Program at Georgetown University on Monday,
August 20th 2012.
One EHLS Scholar/NLSC Member is currently participating as a Swahili expert in a 10-week NLSC Foreign Affairs Officers (FAO) Web assignment with the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). A second EHLS Scholar/NLSC Member recently represented the NLSC as a Dari Language Panelist at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) in support of a Dari Constructed Response Test (CRT) Standard Setting Study in Baltimore, MD. from August 6th - 10th, 2012.

About
the English for Heritage Language Speakers Program: The EHLS and the NLSC are two of nine initiatives
at the Defense Language and National Security Education Office (DLNSEO). EHLS specifically
focuses on intense classroom instruction, interaction with government and
private business experts, and development of projects that prepare its Scholars
for positions in the Federal Government.
