The National Language Service
Corps’ (NLSC) staff participated in a Regionally Aligned Forces (RAF) Training
Enablers Workshop from Wednesday, October 14th – Friday, October 16th
in Fort Polk, Louisiana. Participation in The RAF Workshop afforded the NLSC an opportunity to present
a brief and learn more about fellow participants’ organization.
The training enablers workshop also provided insight on the current and pending training requirements of RAF and a chance for face-to-face interaction with representatives from US Army 162nd Infantry Brigade. The NLSC recently assisted the 162nd Infantry Brigade’s cultural training efforts by filling a requirement for 12 Russian-speaking Members to provide regional expertise and participate in role-playing scenarios.

understanding of future requirements for the 162nd Infantry Brigade
as well as an appreciation of the importance of language and culture in the
mission of the 162nd Infantry Brigade executing security
cooperation. The NLSC anticipates an upcoming assignment assisting with training
in regional cultural expertise, basic instruction, and role-playing in four African
countries. The NLSC expects to support the assignment via its current
